September is a great time to be in the Virgin Islands!
September 13, 2024St. Thomas Boat Charters has been taking full advantage of the calm seas and light winds. The snorkeling has been incredible, and we’ve spent a lot of time observing the sea turtles at Maho Bay. Large turtles have been grazing on sea grass at the bottom, and they frequently pop up near us, giving our guests a close and personal experience with both turtles and remoras.
Another popular snorkeling spot has been the shipwreck at Christmas Cove. Tropical Storm Ernesto shifted the wreck, and it’s now right-side up, offering a fresh perspective. Captain Brandon recently snorkeled through the ship, and we’ve posted the video on our Facebook page for anyone who’d like to see it.
Some of our regular lunch spots are closed for September, so we’ve been spending time at Water Island and Cruz Bay, St. John. Water Island is home to Dinghy’s, a great beach bar with amazing conch fritters and mahi tacos. They offer a diverse menu with something for everyone, plus a fantastic cocktail selection. High Tide in Cruz Bay is another excellent lunch option, offering Caribbean-style cuisine with a beautiful view. This time of year, the Virgin Islands are peaceful, with very few people around, making it an ideal time to visit.
Later this month, St. Thomas Boat Charters will begin our annual maintenance program. This is when we take the boats out of the water for cleaning and prep for the upcoming season. Captain Nate is dedicated to keeping the boats in top shape, ensuring they’re fresh and ready for our guests.
We’ve also upgraded our snorkel gear, adding high-quality, comfortable equipment, along with luxury pool noodles and floats for lounging and snorkeling. The noodles make it easy to relax while enjoying the vibrant marine life. St. Thomas Boat Charters is excited to share an unforgettable day on the water with you! Our experienced captains are passionate about the local history and love to share it with our guests. Give us a call today to book your adventure!
